Spiritual Gift Analysis

Just did this spiritual gift analysis that I was supposed to do after NC but now only free to do. Honestly I'm still shocked at my results but the explanations really describe me well. My results are……

Your dominant gifts are Pastor/Shepherd and Serving

The results of your Spiritual Gifts Inventory indicate that your number one dominant gift is PASTORING/SHEPHERDING! Therefore, we are actually discussing the GIFT of shepherding, not the POSITION of pastor. Though a good pastor must have the gift of shepherding, everyone who has the gift of shepherding is not called to be pastor. The gift can be used in many positions in a church.

As a gifted shepherd, you have the Spirit-given capacity and desire to serve God by overseeing, training, and caring for the needs of a group of Christians. You are usually very patient, people-centred, and willing to spend time in prayer for others. You tend to be a "Jack of All and Master of ONE," meaning you are usually dominant in one of the speaking gifts (evangelist, prophet, teacher, exhorter) as well. You are often authoritative, more a leader than a follower, and expressive, composed, and sensitive. Your pleasing personality draws people to you.

You have a burden to see others learn and grow and are protective of those under your care. You want to present the whole Word of God and do not like to present the same materials more than once. You are willing to study what is necessary to feed your group and are more relationship oriented than task oriented. You are a peace-maker and diplomat - very tolerant of people's weaknesses. You tend to remember people's names and faces. You are more concerned with doing for others than others doing for you. You are faithful and devoted and may become a workaholic. You can become an all-purpose person in order to meet needs.

Be careful to involve other people; don't try to do it all yourself. Work on making people accountable. Do not be overly protective of your "flock." Because of these potentially weak areas, other people may think it is your job to do all the work; they rely too heavily on you. You may be expected to be available at all times, know all the answers, and be at every function. Learn when to say no.

The results of your Spiritual Gifts Inventory indicate that your second dominant gift is SERVING! As a server you have the Spirit-given capacity and desire to serve God by rendering practical help in both physical and spiritual matters. You enjoy meeting the practical needs of your fellow Christians and the church.

The gift of serving is not the gift God gives you when you cannot do anything else. It is spiritual in nature and as important as any gift in the church. Never think it is anything less; it only becomes less if you do not use it as God intended.

As a server you are the person who is willing to do a million and one necessary tasks in the church. You are happy working behind the scenes. You are ambitious, often involved in a variety of activities, and enjoy manual projects. You are loyal, sincere, tolerant, faithful, and devoted. Most people find you easy going, likable, congenial, and inoffensive. You can listen to others without being critical. You do not like to be in the spotlight and prefer not to express yourself publicly.

You are quick to respond to needs and impressed with the need to respond when exhorted to serve. Because of this, you find it difficult to say no. You like to support a good leader. Some consider you a workaholic. You tend to emphasize practical needs over spiritual needs.

For those who know me. I'm really like that especially my flaws. I guess I'm still working on it, you know the part of learning to say no. Besides that, I think I also will work on opening up about my problems. That will be another hurdle for me but I'm seeking God and believing in Him that He can change me.

As for the good side of me, I hope I can continue to be that person and not let pride/selfishness get in the way. So now whatever I do, I will leave in God's hands.

2011 - A Year of Miracles

Well God has been so ever faithful for the year of 2010. I received many blessings from Him. Indeed, God has answered a lot of my prayer request. My last year theme verse was,

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

This year I think God is expecting me to fully trust in Him. Do not limit Him in a box. But as I pray I have to believe. Great things can be done with faith. So I guess two verses has been speaking to me so far for this year.

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Revelation 3:20

"But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the LORD’s praise, for he has been good to me." Psalms 13:5-6

So I'll just be trusting God this year. He is always with me. All I have to do is just trust Him. I should not condemn myself and remember that I've been save by His grace. He still loves me no matter what I've done (be it good or bad). Just trust Him and clearly I will be able to see many miracles happen in my life and the people around me.

Birthday

Yup I had a great birthday celebration this year(2010). I got to celebrate my birthday not only with my family and friends but also with 500 people who I just met in camp. In addition, I celebrated my birthday 4 times (all at different dates...but who cares right??). I can't believe it that I'm 22. Still so young...haha...Every year I will have the same feeling. I live the whole year as a 22 year-old but only reached that age at the end of the year. But it doesn't matter. God is still with me and He blessed me throughout the year...hehe...

1st Celebration (1st December)
Well my first celebration was from my brother. He was one of the organizers of the camp and he would not be here on the 2nd so he celebrated for me earlier. He also gave me laptop bag. Now I have ample bags. Thank you Lord for Your blessings.

2nd Celebration (2nd December...actual date)
My second celebration was at camp (National Conference). My room mate found out that it was my birthday and he told my group members. So they announced it during breakfast and the whole crowd sang for me. After that, before one of the session started my CF mates announced again and now 500 campers and organizers sang for me. After session, my new korean friends sang for me in Korean. I am truly grateful. Not only that, my Ipoh friends who also came for camp gave me a birthday cake (Gardenia cupcake...but better than nothing right...haha...) and of course you guess it another birthday song. Never in my life have I gotten so many birthday songs. It was truly a memorable birthday. I also got presents from my CF friends. A book, a bag, a wrist rest thingy, a BEN10 monopoly and a serviette card. Thanks guys...

3rd Celebration (5th December)
This time it was with my parents. My dad spent lunch. We went to a Italian shop (my favourite food). It was our first time there. It's called Sweet Spaghetti Tea Cafe. There was not much customers because it was really pricey. However the food was not bad. I think it's really worth the money. We had spaghetti pizza, salmon pasta and a garden salad. For desert we had Tiramisu cake and a bread pudding. It was really a lovely lunch.

4th Celebration (28th December)
My last celebration was with my house mates. After a long break, my semester had started. So my house mates decided to celebrate my birthday because during my birthday it was holidays. They sang birthday song again and they gave me a muffin...haha...at least I get to blow another candle...haha...

I really had a memorable birthday. I think it was so much better than me 21st birthday. Thank you guys for everything. Love you guys....hehe...

Holidays

Well I'm back after MIA for so long...so just to update what I did during my holidays. I'm going to summarize my holidays...haha...For those who know me, I'm always super busy during holidays. Well this time is not that bad. I only went for two camps...haha...instead of 4. Anyway, first week of holidays I celebrated Deepavali with my cousins in KL. It was really a good family reunion. The food of course was awesome. After that, I went back home. When I stepped into my house, the first thing my parents ask me to do was to clean the house. Early spring cleaning before Chinese New Year. Then I had my Committee Planning Retreat for PERKEB for the new semester. I really thank God that we had a good time. It was good to be open with my Committee Members. That was first camp. Then the following week I went for National Conference (NC) organized by FES (Fellowship Evangelical Students). It was a great camp and I get to make new friends. The best part of the camp was God answered many of my prayers. Not only that, some topics was really an eye opener to me. So one of my new year's resolution is to read the newspaper and also to spend time with my Malay friends. After all these camps, I came back home to continue cleaning my house, rearranging furniture, putting up the Christmas tree, helping my mom at the office and of course meeting up with friends. I also skipped one week of class just to celebrate Christmas at home. The other reason was to be a tour guide for my cousins who came down from Singapore. It was really my first time having fresh water prawns in Tanjung Tualang, going to Gua Tempurung and also another cave. Even I was born and raise here in Ipoh, I haven't heard of all these places. In short I had a good long holiday.
