Just two weeks ago I went to Singapore. The best part is I went there in the midst of my exams. My first paper was on the 3rd and I went to Singapore on the next day. Came back on Friday which is a day before my next paper. Haha... I was really so excited to be going to Singapore. I went there with my brother. This is my second time going to Singapore but I would rather say that it was my first for I've never been to Singapore since I was 3. So I really don't remember anything. We left from Bangsar at 2.30pm and arrived at Novena Shooping Centre, Singapore b
y 8.00pm. It was really a long bus ride but the personal TV in the bus made the time fly fast. I managed to watch 3 movies in a row in the bus. When we arrived, my brother's friend, Kenny picked us up and we had dinner at a place called BaliThai. It serves Indonesian food as w
ell as Thai food. The best part was it was a buffet. So we really ate a lot. Haha... After that Kenny took us to the famous Changi International Airport. It was really huge. They have 3 terminals and to get to one terminal to another you can sit the train. I also saw the first time in my life an automatic drinking fountain. You just stand near it and the censor will detect and woala water comes out. Really cool.. Later on we went back to the house to rest. The next day we woke up late so we straight away had lunch. Another buffet. Really nice. First time too I saw or heard such thing as Durian pudding. Although I really don't like durian I had to taste a little bit. The buffet had Japanese food, Nonya food, Western food, Chinese food and so on. When we were full already we walked around the shopping centres. A few actually. I can't really remember the names. Only 1 Raffles Shopping Centre I think. There was an underground shopping mall which links another shopping mall to another one. Singapore d
oes have a lot of shopping malls. Then we went a little sight seeing. We went to the Marina Barage. It just opened. It's a new resouvoir which the Singapore government build just in case Malaysia stop sending
them water supply. So the view was really nice and that place was really windy. It felt like you were on a deck of a ship. Next on the agenda was ice cream. Kenny took us to a place call Ice cream Chef whereby you get to choose your own ice cream flavour and your own fillings. Boy was there a lot of fillings to choose from. From oreos to fruit loops, from snicker bars to m & m. The ice cream was really lovely. That night my brother and I went to watch a musical called Avenue Q. Actually this was the real reason why we went to Singapore. It was really funny and what we expected. After the musical we went to a place called Brewersky whereby they brew their own beer. But we went there for the food. Man was it nice and huge. It's just like Chillis in Malaysia. To end the night we went walking around Clarke Quay (like Bintang Walk). Really a place full of lights and people. Pubs, discos and restaurants bloomed there. The next day, we were on a art frenzy. I've no idea why Singapore was so into art these days. So went went to a few art museum trying to understand the concepts. Some we could get it, some we could not. Maybe we are not really art lovers. later in the evening, I finally got to see
my extended family in Singapore. I've not met them before, not even once. Heard of them from my mom but never seen them. They are my mom's cousins which make them my aunts. They are all so nice. They took us out for dinner and I got to play with my niece. She's so cute. Haha... That night I got to see the famous Merlion. You know the white lion that spits out water. There's actually nothing grand about it but I really liked the view at night at the harbour. You could see the whole city of Singapore from there. You could see the Esplanade, the Marina Barage, City hall, 5 star hotels, the sea, the Eye on Singapore any many high-rise buildings. Then it was end of the day. The next morning we went to eat at Carls Jr. Really different from Malaysia's outlet. They have a breakfast menu which was really good. After a heavy breakfast we headed back to Novena Square to catch our bus back to Bangsar. I really enjoyed my trip and am looking forward to go back again. There's still place that I want to vist like Sentosa island and he Toy museum. Maybe will go back during Christmas season whereby the whole city would be filled with twinkling lights and lots of Christmas decorations.
A fresh new start, awaiting to be empowered for a purposeful living...

Crazy Little Thing Called LOVE
Finally i can get back online. It's been a while. Connection in uni really is very bad. But at least I'm grateful that I can come online for a while sometimes. Anyway, two Sundays ago (2 November) I went for a play done by the Footstool Players. The title was Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I really enjoyed it. The Footstool Players is a touring theatre company that explores the themes of love, courtship, marriage and family in a collection of comedic and dramatic sketches highlighting the issues pertaining to relationships. It was really good. You'll definitely laugh, cry and discover things through the sketches. Well I know it's a little bit late but you can still catch them on the 6 - 16 November 2008 at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. Ticket price is RM20 for students. I hope if you've got the time then I fully recommend it.

Chilis!!!

Finally, the long awaited moment had arrived. CHILIS!!!! We had planned a long time for this and finally everyone was free to go. We even star
ted our own committee, 'The CPC'(Chilis Planning Committee). We took the KTM all the way to Midvalley just for Chilis. Nothing more. No shopping or walk first at Midvalley. Just went there to have dinner at Chilis. Haha... I was so excited because it's my first time
there. People always tell me that it's worth trying it once. And it sure is. Though it's expensive but at least try it once. The portion of the food is very huge. Worth the money. I had Montere
y Chicken. It had a piece of chicken, beef bacon strips, cheese, mash potatoes and vegetables. It was heavenly. Then the drinks and the Tatarda chips are refillable. After finishing everything we were all so full. We were really stuffed. Oh man..it was really good. Finally, my tastebud was satisfied. Haha... Next stop Italiannese! (when we have saved enough money...LOL...)

Street Feeding

Last saturday, PERKEB went to do a community service. We took a bus from Bangi all the way to Pudu Raya to do street feeding. It was a long journey. Took us an hour and a half to reach that place. But it was worth the trip. We became volunteers to distribute the food and drinks to the homeless people. The food and drinks were prepared by church volunteers from DUMC. T

Selamat Hari Raya
Just last week, my PPSM had an open house. So we were all invited to attend. It was nice. We had meehoon, ketupat, ayam panggang, sirap limau, kuihs, biscuits and chocalate. The peanut sauce fot the ketupat was superb. Never taste anything like that before. We sang Hari Raya songs although I only knew a few but hey it was fun singing together. Later on we saling bermaafan and wishing everyone Hari Raya. It was a good experience for me because it's my first time being in an open house. I guess this is how we create unity...

The Unpredictable Weather

Lately the weather here in uni is so unpredictable. One minute it will be scorching hot and the next minute it's raining cats and dogs. Last Wednesday I had a very scary experience but I thank God that I was not hurt. That afternoon I went out with my friend, Nicholas to get some stuff from Kajang town and have lunch there. It was so hot so neither of us brought an umbrella. We also had dinner then only came back to uni. On the way back in the bus, the sky suddenly turned all dark and black. Looks like a huge storm is coming. When the bus just arrived at the main gate, the rain came down too. So me and my friend stop and waited at the bus stop until the rain subsided. But that wasn't the problem. It was not only raining cats and dogs but also the lightning and thunder were super close and scary. We waited at the Zaba bus top for it is nearer for us to walk back to our room from there. Then suddenly and unexpected thing happen. Right there in front of my eyes, a lightning just struck the open car park area in Zaba. It was so scary. You could just see one lightning bolt in front of you. Car alarm started to come on. People were terrified. The electricity cut off for a moment. I was scared for I was quite close to it. Then I really started praying hard for the rain to subs
ide. Thank God, He had answer my prayer. When all the lightning and thunder stop the rain stopped too. Wow, God is really an amazing God. I'm so thankful. Through this experience I realise something. Ther
e is a song that really speaks to me when I'm down or am troubled. It is from Casting Crowns and the song title is Praise You In The Strom...
PRAISE YOU IN THE STORM
I am sure by now
That you would have reach down
That you would have reach down
And wipe my tears away
Stepped in and save the day
Once again, I say amen
But it's still raining
As the thunder roars
I barely hear Your whisper
Through the rain
But it's still raining
As the thunder roars
I barely hear Your whisper
Through the rain
I'm with you
As your mercy falls
I raise my hand
And praise the God who gives
And takes away
I'll praise you in the storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I cry
And every tear I cry
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I'll praise you in the storm
I remember when
I stumble in the wind
You heard my cry
And you raise me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You
If I can't find You
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth

Putrajaya Outing

Eye on Malaysia
I finally gotten the chance to visit the Eye on Malaysia in Titiwangsa lake before it shuts down and goes to Melaka. The scenery was nice. A big huge wheel just planted in the middle of a lake. I w
ent with my churchmates from KAOG (Kajang Assembly Of God- the church that I'm now attending here in UKM). We went in the evening and waited till night to watch the
laser show and see the night lights. We also saw the most facinating public toilet. It's like the public toilet of the future. The doors slides open by a push of a button. You clapped then the tap turns on. We paid 20cents each just to see the toilet eventhough some of us need not have to go. Haha... really like few ulu people havent see a toilet before. Anyway, the main purpose was to sit the wheel and enjoy the scenery from up above. The 8 of us squeeze into one gondola and we went round and round for 15 mi
nutes. One member was afraid of heights and didnt know that it was so high that she freaked out and all of us have to calm her down. But we couldnt stop it from going round and round, right? Up there you cant really see much things at night. I think it would be better going up on the evening. At night, all you can see is pitch darkness. Pure black. The only thing that stands out are the Twin Towers and KL tower. Other than that there's nothing much to see. Oh well, at least if people asked whether I've gone in before at least I could say yes.

PPSM Merdeka Outing

PPSM is my college library. It stands for Persatuan Pusat Sumber & Maklumat. Well I joined it because I would like to stay in college next year. So this is one way to get merit. The weekend before Merdeka we had an outing at my faculty's lake. We just had games and team-building session. We also managed to paint a v

Phuket Trip
Yup I finally got to use my passport. Haha... Anyway it was my mom's annual office trip. Last year was sarawak t
his year was phuket. Of course didn't want to waste this chance so I followed my mom eventhough I had to skip classes. Well.. you win some you loose some...haha... The trip was quite fun la. We ate a lot of seafood and tomyam. All the food is mostly sweet, spicy and sour all mixed together. Of course Phuket is famous for its island and beaches and it was really a beautiful scene to look at. At night, we would walk along the beach at the night market. In Phuket, you are allowed to bargain but when you start to bargain make sure you buy the thing. If not, the shop owner would chase you down the street
until you purchase it. Phuket is also very 'interestin' (if you know what I mean). There's different places or streets for different 'kinds' of people. The last night, we got to visit this place called 'Fantasea Island'. It's like an entertainment pla
ce to know the history and culture of Phuket and Thailand. It was really interesting. Not only that I got to have an elephant ride. It was a lovely experience. It was a slow but scary ride. Each step the elephant took you felt like falling down. But pity the elephant. Sometimes the rider would hit the elephant's head with a stick if it does not follow orders. Besides the elephant ride, there was any interesting activity that I did. Overall it was a so-so vacation but at least I got the chance to go oversea. Haha...

Engineering Faculty Night

Would you believe it? Not only I had 'College Night' but here there's also a night for your own faculty. So for me, I had to go for our Engineering Faculty Night. It's way more fun than my College Night. We went to a five star hotel and dressed up superbly fancy. For the first time my hair was styled. First time I'd use gel and my hair was sprayed blue. But the faculty night was no different. We had sketches, singing, dancing and all that jazz again. But it was way fun. We still had those candidates. This time is to represent our courses. My course was JKAS (Jabatan Kejuruteraan Awan & Sekitar/Struktur). Although we didnt win anything, but the night brought us closer as coursemates and friends.
